Demand & Supply Chain Manager

Job Summary   A Demand & Supply Chain Manager  involves aligning sales forecasts with production, inventory, and financial plans to optimize operations and achieve business goals. S&OP roles, often found in supply chain management, require strong analytical, forecasting, and communication skills to facilitate cross-functional collaboration and decision-making.

Duties:

  • Developing and implementing S&OP strategies: This involves creating and refining processes to integrate demand, supply, and financial planning.
  • Leading cross-functional teams: Collaborating with sales, marketing, operations, and finance to ensure alignment and achieve consensus on plans.
  • Analyzing market trends and demand patterns: Monitoring and interpreting data to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Forecasting and demand planning: Creating and maintaining accurate sales forecasts to drive production and inventory planning.
  • Managing inventory and production: Optimizing inventory levels to meet demand while minimizing costs and waste.
  • Monitoring and reporting on performance: Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting on the effectiveness of the S&OP process.
  • Identifying areas for process improvement: Continuously seeking ways to enhance the S&OP process and its outcomes.
  • Leading the overall S&OP process and team.Supply Chain Manager: Overseeing the entire supply chain and its integration with S&OP. Demand Planner: Focusing specifically on forecasting and demand management. Supply Planner: Managing inventory, production, and logistics in line with S&OP plans.
  • S&OP Analyst: Providing analytical support to the S&OP process.

Essential Skills:  

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills: The ability to analyze data, identify trends, and solve complex problems.
  • Communication and collaboration skills: The ability to effectively communicate with various teams and stakeholders.
  • Forecasting and demand planning expertise: Knowledge of forecasting methodologies and tools.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles: Understanding the end-to-end supply chain and its key processes.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools: Experience with S&OP, forecasting tools, and data analysis platforms.  

Industrial Knowledge:

  • Prior experience in production planning or a related role is often required. With manufacturing FMCG sector.
  • Expert handhold on Microsoft especially Excel.Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Good understanding on Global Terms of Trade.Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle pressure.
  • Adherence to timeline for set goals
